Fitness Center Team Leader (Part-Time)


Cincinnati State operates a limited schedule on-campus Fitness Center for employees and students. The Fitness Center Team Leader will oversee the operations of the Center and ensure the safety of customers using the facility. The Center includes a well-equipped work-out area, in addition to a spinning and yoga room.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage all fitness activity areas and equipment within the Fitness Center.      
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment as needed.
  • Mediate and resolve customer service issues.
  • Support faculty and course activities as scheduled in the Fitness Center.
  • Establish fitness training programs for students and staff.
  • Assist in the development, delivery, and execution of intramurals.
  • Ensure that the Fitness Center is well maintained and cleaned on a daily basis.
  • Manage inventory of related Fitness Center equipment.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to customers on use of equipment.
  • Ensure student workers are trained to provide quality customer service.
  • Establish and maintain positive business relations with related vendors.
  • Oversee Surge Card swipe machine to validate current student and employee use.
  • Must be capable of working with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff on a daily basis.
  • Develop and execute a schedule of job related tasks for cleaning and maintaining the Fitness Center for each day.
  • Proper internal communication and submission of work orders for repairs within the Fitness Center as needed.
  • Support, develop, and implement Fitness Center awareness efforts including, bulletin board, website, social media and other outreach efforts.
  • Assists the Director of Campus Life in designing and implementing expanded health and wellness opportunities for the college community.
  • Attend all department meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Trainer with certifications in AED and CPR

Hours: Up to 29 hours per week primarily between the hours of 2pm and 8pm, Monday thru Friday.  


Reports To:                 Director of Campus Life

Compensation:            $15.00/hr

Contract Affiliation:   Non-Bargaining

Status:                         Part-time, not to exceed 29/hours per week

Classification:             Non-Exempt



This part-time position is eligible for the State Employee Retirement System (SERS) for which the employee's 10% contribution is matched by the College at 14% of earnings, or as otherwise statutorily required.  This position also qualifies for free parking on campus.
