The Workforce Development Center (WDC) at Cincinnati State is the region's leading workforce training and education center. This position reports to the WDC Director of the Workforce Development Center. The Business Manager of Health and Public Safety Technology has contact with faculty and staff, and oversees/directs the business management of the Health and Public Safety Technology subdivision.  In addition, the individual coordinates the development and sales of customized training to organizations and individuals who would benefit from these services.  These sales occur through contact and collaboration with business/industry, professional organizations, governmental organizations, the community, and agencies.

Current programming in this area includes: State Tested Nurse Aide, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Fire Science Training, Police Training, HAZMAT, Safety, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Continuing Education, Paramedic, along with a variety of customized solutions.

 Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for obtaining profitable results in the WDC Health and Public Safety Technology subdivision.
  • Develop an annual business plan covering sales, revenue and expense controls, meeting agreed targets.
  • Monitor progress on a monthly basis of the WDC Health and Public Safety Technology toward annual goals.
  • Maximize enrollments through cross-functional looks at customer base.
  • Coordinate with WDC Director to create new product lines within the WDC Health and Public Safety Technology subdivision based on community need and potential of increased revenue.
  • Participate as a valuable team member in the Workforce Development Team.
  • Promote Cincinnati State's academic divisions, and co-op and advancement departments.
  • Participate with the Workforce Development Team and other relevant stakeholders to continually improve processes and effectiveness.
  • Participate in the community at a level that enhances outcomes for the Workforce Development Center.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in related field
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • 10 years of field experience in related field
  • Experience creating budgets and monitoring financial reports
  • Experience in workforce training or sales in the Health/Public Safety Technology field
  • Availability to work some nights and weekends.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, ability to lift/move packages (up to 40 lbs.) as needed for training purposes.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between clients/campus locations.


 Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in B2B sales and service delivery
  • 3+ years of teaching experience in related field

  • Ability to identify problem(s) and solve them through a logical, collaborative process.
